morning beach stroll in florida last weekend, heading to mom's compost bin (pre-dinner), and late bloomers in mom's garden. :)

we spent the entire weekend with my husband's family. such a treat. baby nephews & baby sisters & much bigger aunts, parents, and siblings were in town. imagine a perfect saturday afternoon outside on the family farm, three generations lounging in the grass or old metal rockers, the babies climb in sand & pull up huge sweet potatoes from the garden, the patriarch (pictured) whittles, and everyone gets a turn on the old mare. idyllic, really.

this weekend, we got to spend a lot of time with my husband's smart & sassy (& incredibly beautiful) baby sister. we built tents, dressed up in sequins, played with pretty rocks, climbed in boxes, pulled puppies in little wagons, ate nachos... really fun times!

project: a photobooth strip garland i made last night after going through stacks of pics... all you need is string & some colorful japanese washi tape. would make a lovely party or wedding decoration, dontcha think? :)

finally settling into our new apartment. it's so nice to finally have our own space (it's been four and a half months since we've had our own place...) we've been unpacking & organizing for weeks... it's so comforting to be surrounded by your own special things. i have high hopes & big ideas for our new space. there's lots of light & windows, lots of storage (closets!!!), and little luxuries we never had in brooklyn. we love it. ♥
