basquiat & i shot andy warhol both came out during my junior year of high school. i was really inspired by jean-michel at the time (not to mention i had the hots for him)(or jeffrey wright)(or both). even now, i am still really looking foward to seeing the radiant child.



and i'm hoping to see i am love this weekend. :)

Attention all New Yawkers!

My good friend from college, Sterlin Harjo, has a week-long run of his newest film, Barking Water, at the MoMA. The story is set against a road trip through my beautiful & wide-open homeland, Oklahoma.
The run ends on Monday, so you've (ahem... we've) still got some time to check it out.

Zabriskie Point

I watched Antonioni's Zabriskie Point a few nights ago. Truthfully, I fast-fowarded through the bulk of it (not the best screenplay in the world), but it was one of the most beautiful films I've ever seen. It makes me want to go back to OK and shoot in the mesas and salt plains. I love these promo photos from the film:
